Coming-of-age film that overlays a 16-year-old girl's maturation with the onslaught of people into Ishikawa Prefecture's Kanazawa City with the 2015 opening of the Hokuriku bullet train. Shot entirely in Ishikawa Prefecture, the film moves the setting of the original comic "Tokyo Shutter Girl" from Tokyo to Kanazawa.
Protagonist Hanana was best buddies in junior high school with Kotoko, Shoko and Kaede. In high school, Hanana gets stuck with longing for their junior high school years, while the other girls are off making new friends and building their own lives.
