Live-action adaptation of Naoki Prize-winning author Higashino Keigo's mystery novel. A geochemist tackles the enigma of two consecutive deaths that happen under suspicious circumstances. Directed by Miike Takashi of The Blade of the Immortal.
Two people die consecutively due to hydrogen sulfide gas poisoning, but at hot springs that are far apart. Moreover, the victims knew each other, which leads the police to suspect murder. But, geochemist Aoe (Sakurai Sho), who is assisting the investigation, rules out foul play based the findings. Then, Madoka (Hirose Suzu), a mysterious woman can foresee natural phenomena, shows up.
