The television anime series based on Horikoshi Kohei's hero manga moves to the big screen. Set in a world where eighty percent of the population are "abnormals" possessing paranormal abilities, the story depicts the maturation of a young boy born "normal". Horikoshi himself serves as general supervisor and character planner.
Deku (voice: Yamashita Daiki) attends a hero training school for vanquishing evil. Before the school's summer vacation retreat, he is invited to a massive man-made island floating on the sea. Deku heads to the island with his teacher Allmight (voice: Miyake Kenta), but the island's defense systems have been hacked by a villain.
