Hit-maker Hirakawa Yuichiro helms this live-action adaptation of Hiiragi Aoi's celebrated manga, which fans know from the same-named 1995 animation film. This completely new story picks up the protagonists' lives ten years later.
Bibliophile Tsukishima Shizuku (Seino Nana) is in her last year of junior high school when she gets to know her classmate Amasawa Seiji (Matsuzaka Tori). They bond over having dreams that they want to achieve, and they promise to each other that they will make those dreams come true. Ten years go by, and the year is 1998. Shizuku is now 24 years old and works as a children's book editor.
