[ Story ]
The Kurdish Kazankiran family, who came from Turkey to Japan claiming refugee status, sleep in front of the United Nations University as part of a demonstration and start petitioning in a desperate move to obtain official refugee status. Although their appeal is approved, eventually the father and children are deported. A "passive observer" until this point, the director follows the family to Turkey in order to relieve his anger and questions. Speaking to the locals, he throws himself into a whir of theories regarding the relationship between "Turks", "Kurds", and Kurdish refugees, and discovers a "Kurdish" identity in Turkey removed from the international news. The film's fresh perspective delivers a body blow (hence the title) to the situation of the individual, society, and the state. Nomoto Masaru was born in 1983 and this is his first feature documentary after dropping out from film school.
