This road movie closely delves into the emotions of a man who travels to Yokosuka in an attempt to confirm the whereabouts of his former lover who was thought to have been a victim of the Great East Japan Earthquake. It is written and directed by Otsuka Shinichi who is making his theatrical film debut.
With their wedding imminent, Haruki (Kobayashi Ryuju) and Chikako (Shijimi) decide to split when Chikako's father becomes in need of nursing care. And then the earthquake strikes. Nine years after splitting up, he gets word Chikako, whom he thought had been a victim of the disaster, might be alive. A half-convinced Haruki heads toward Yokosuka where she is supposed to be.
