Drama about Onoda Hiroo, who didn't know the war had ended and continued his mission as an intelligence officer.
In 1944 with the war's end approaching, intelligence trainee Onoda Hiroo (Endo Yuya, Tsuda Kanji) is ordered to wage a guerrilla war on Lubang Island in the Philippines until auxiliary forces arrive. Before leaving Japan, Onoda is told by his commanding officer Taniguchi (Issey Ogata) that death is not an option, but he instead experiences an epic three decades in the pitiless jungle.
