[ Story ]

Based on the historical events of the end of the Pacific War, this coming-of-age ensemble drama tells the story of three young adults who lived their lives to the fullest while being at the mercy of the times.
It is the summer of 1945. Under secret orders from the military, Shu (Yagira Yuya) and a team of scientists are attempting to research and develop an atomic bomb. Meanwhile, Shu's childhood friend Setsu (Arimura Kasumi), loses her home in a building evacuation due to the war, and comes to stay with Shu's family. Shu's younger brother Hiroyuki (Miura Haruma) temporarily returns home from fighting on the front lines. The reunion of the three after so long apart brings them all a moment of joy before they return to their obligations to their country. Shu searches for meaning in his work. He is fascinated by the physics he is attempting to advance, but horrified by the destruction that the scientific development may cause.
