Watanabe Kensaku, who won the 37th Japan Academy Film Prize for The Best Screenplay with The Great Passage, serves as screenwriter and director for this bold remake of Takahashi Hidemine's same-named essay. Delivers a message of hope and renewal through the life of a guy who can't swim.
Takanashi Yuji (Hasegawa Hiroki) is a brainy university professor who can't bear to put his head under water. He shows up at a swim class and the instructor Usuhara Shizuka (Ayase Haruka) enrolls him in lessons, and he wreaks havoc while learning how to swim.
