[ Story ]

Asada Jiro's same-named historical novel adapted for the silver screen. Director Maeda Tetsu co-wrote the script with Inaba Kazuhiro to capture the thrills of humanity during the Edo period.
Koshiro (Kamiki Ryunosuke) grew up as the son of a salmon dealer in the Nibuyama Domain of Echigo, but he finds out that he is actually heir to the domain and descendant of the shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. Ex-domain lord Ikkosai (Sato Koichi) is his real father and orders Kojiro to strategically declare bankruptcy to save the domain, but in fact he wants to shove all the blame on his son and make him commit harakiri suicide.
