Family drama that marks the 90th film helmed by 91-year-old maestro director Yamada Yoji. Highly anticipated as his third film about motherhood in collaboration with legendary actress Yoshinaga Sayuri, after Kabei: Our Mother and Nagasaki: Memories of My Son.
The HR head at a major company, Kanzaki Akio (Oizumi Yo) is distressed by his unravelling marriage and rocky relationship with his college-age daughter Mai (Nagano Mei). He makes a rare visit to his mother Fukue's (Yoshinaga Sayuri) home in downtown Tokyo, and he notices that she seems somehow different when she comes to greet him.
