A socially-conscious drama about the struggle surrounding the real-life genius developer who was arrested for aiding and abetting copyright infringement. Directed and written by Matsumoto Yusaku, who gained attention with his independent film Noise.
In 2002, developer Kaneko Isamu (Higashide Masahiro) developed the revolutionary file-sharing software Winny and released a trial version on a bulletin board site. While the number of users quickly grew, illegal uploading of copyrighted material continued, leading to a social problem. Eventually, Kaneko himself was arrested.
