[ Story ]
A film adaptation of the eponymous novel by Yoko, daughter of the poet Hagiwara Sakutaro, with a screenplay by Goto Sayaka and Arai Haruhiko. The film vividly portrays the poet who survived despite being at the mercy of war.
Miyoshi Tatsuji (Higashide Masahiro), who looks up to Hagiwara Sakutaro as his teacher, fatefully meets the poet's beautiful youngest sister Keiko (Iriyama Noriko), who lives with Sakutaro. However, his poor background prevents him from marrying her, and in a moment of disappointment, he agrees to an arranged marriage with Sato Haruo's niece. Time passes, and Tatsuji, who published a poem praising the war, became a national poet.
