[ Story ]

Live action adaptation of Akutagawa Prize recipient Takai Yuichi's novel by the same name, which won the Tanizaki Junichiro Prize. Depicts illicit love shared between a man and woman during wartime. Arai Haruhiko, whose screenplay credits including Backwater, returns to the director's chair for the first time in eighteen years.
1945, Tokyo. 19-year-old Satoko (Nikaido Fumi) lives a stoic existence with her mother under threat of air raids. As wartime conditions deteriorate, Satoko worries about dying without experiencing love. However, Satoko comes into her own as a woman as she cares for her neighbor Ichige (Hasegawa Hiroki), who has a wife and child.
