Ambitious 245-minute work inspired by the "dog bridegroom" folk legend. Directed by Katashima Ikki, whose film Pure Asia was screened at overseas festivals.
One day elementary school teacher Azusa (Arimori Narimi) hears a heavenly voice that tells her, "Go to Imore Island. There you will find the treasure that your heart desires." She leaves everything behind to go on a treasure hunt, but she is met by an off-beat con artist, hoodlum revolutionary, shut-in ex-guitarist, and an exiled prince who transforms into a dog, and she gets wrapped up in bottomless desires and battles.
