This feature-length animated film, produced to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the original author Mizuki Shigeru, depicts the story leading up to the birth of Kitaro, which should be called "Episode 0" of the sixth season of the TV animation series broadcast from 2018 to 2020.
Kitaro (Sawashiro Miyuki) and Medama Oyaji (Nozawa Masako) set foot in the abandoned village of Warekura. About seventy years ago, in 1956, Kitaro's father (Seki Toshihiko) visited that village, which was ruled by the Ryuga clan, to look for his wife...
