[ Story ]

Director Ishii Gakuryu's film adaptation of the 1973 novel of the same name by author Abe Kobo, who celebrated the 100th anniversary of his birth in 2024.The film had its world premiere at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival.
The "Box Man" wears a cardboard box over his head and unilaterally observes the world from inside the box. Photographer "I" (Nagase Masatoshi) is fascinated by the box man, the final form that humans desire, and takes his first steps as a box man by putting on a cardboard box, but is faced with numerous trials and dangers.
