Following the impression left by "Summer Blooms" and "The Eternal Spring Dream," director Ryutaro Nakagawa presents the final chapter of his trilogy.
Michi, who returns to her hometown after learning her mother Kanako has little time left, struggles as her attempts to care for her are met with rejection. Pregnant with her husband Toshizo's child, she is unsettled by his lingering grief over a lost friend. When Michi discovers a tape revealing "another love" her mother once held dear, she begins to understand her for the first time and moves forward, carrying the love her mother entrusted to her.
