[ Story ]

Kengo Nishi (42), a former gang member and ex-convict, runs "Mirai no Sato", a residential rehabilitation facility for troubled youth. From juvenile delinquents and social recluses to children from broken homes, Nishi fights every day to help them find a way to start over.
Meanwhile, junior high school teacher Toko Kusano (29) is at her wit's end. Struggling with the question of how to face children with whom "dialogue simply doesn't work," her classroom is on the brink of collapse. At the center of the chaos is Kaito Sawa (15), an exceptionally uncontrollable student. Lacking any empathy for the pain or feelings of others, Kaito is a habitual bully and offender. His parents, Yohei (42) and Ayako (46), live in constant fear of their own son, unsure of how to even speak to him. After discovering "Mirai no Sato," Toko persuades the parents to entrust Kaito to Nishi's care.
At the facility, Kaito finds himself living among other youths burdened by their own shadows—drug addiction, social withdrawal, and violent delinquency. Furious at being sent away against his will, Kaito lashes out with violence. Yet, Nishi and his staff refuse to give up, desperately trying to connect with him. For a moment, it seems the communal life is working; Kaito slowly begins to open up.
However, shattering the hopes of Nishi, Toko, and his parents, Kaito escapes the facility and is arrested once again for a brutal assault. As the incident sparks a media frenzy, Nishi's own criminal past is dragged into the light, threatening the very existence of "Mirai no Sato."
Can a human being truly change? Is it possible to ever fully recover from the sins of the past?
