[ Story ]
Kumakiri Kazuyoshi, who commanded global attention for his debut movie, Kichiku, adapted his own original story to a romantic film. The sentiment and physiology of a Japanese woman in her 30s are portrayed with his distinctive touch. Kondo Ryuto's lyrical cinematography has also drawn acclaim.
Having failed to make a breakthrough as an actress, Bando Nobuko, aka Nonko (Sakai Maki), has come home as a divorcée to a Shinto shrine that her parents run. She helps with domestic chores but her days are meaningless. Then a young man named Masaru (Hoshino Gen) comes to the shrine, asking for a space to set up a stall at the shrine festival. Masaru is rather naïve and pitiable but Nonko finds this earnest and straightforward character rather agreeable. When her ex-husband and manager, Udagawa (Tsurumi Shingo), comes to town and hints about a possibility of work, she has sex with him. On the day of the festival, however, Udagawa, now with a new woman, tells Nonko that he lied about the work. Masaru goes on a rampage when a gang member (Tsuda Kanji) refuses to let him set up a stall. Nonko runs away
