[ Story ]

A youthful sports drama based on Mitsuda Takuya's manga, which was serialized in a boys' comic magazine from 1994. Its TV animation version was very popular. It portrays friendship amongst boys who are passionate about baseball, and their family ties. It was selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
A major league baseball player, Shigeno Goro, casts his mind back to 9 years ago on his way back to Japan. Goro is a member of "Mifune Dolphins", a children's baseball team. The team defeats "Yokohama Little", but he hurts his right shoulder. Following the transfer of his father, who is a professional baseball player, to a team in Kyushu, Goro moves to a new school, and joins a prestigious local team, "Hakata Minami Little". Although he is not allowed to pitch, he is placed as the fourth batter and the first baseman for his hitting power and defense ability. However, Koga Masato, an ace who had the 4th position until then, eyes Goro with hostility. Masato's sister, Megumi, becomes distant as soon as she finds out that Goro is the son of a professional baseball player. In the match against "Kita Kyusyu Little", a leading contender in the region, Goro presses on as a pitcher throughout the match to defeat the opponent despite the injury to his right shoulder. As a consequence, he is unable to pitch ever again. Goro has no regrets, and his father suggests pitching with his left arm. Nine years later, Goro meets again with his good old friend Megumi and others.
