[ Story ]
The first feature film from director Kazama Shiori since How Old Is the River won the Tiger Award at the 1994 Rotterdam Film Festival. The film's heroine is in love with a married man, and is loved by a lesbian; The Mars Canon uses a delicate touch to follow the path of her wavering heart and the ripples of spreading waves of love.
Kinuko (Kuno Makiko) is having an affair with Kohei (Kohinata Fumiyo). Kinuko feels lonely and hurt whenever Kohei leaves to go home after their trysts. One day, she meets Manabe (KEE) and Hijiri (Nakamura Asami), who live together like brother and sister. Kinuko is attracted by their warm relationship. At the same time, her relationship with Kohei is going down the drain. Then Hijiri declares her feelings for Kinuko. Kinuko wavers, but tired from her relationship with Kohei, ultimately seeks Hijiri's love even though she isn't a lesbian. Hijiri and Kinuko start living together. Then Kohei's daughter appears, and tells Kinuko that her father has left the family because of her. For Kinuko, it's the start of more confusion and uncertainty.
