[ Story ]

The directorial debut of Kitagawa Eriko, who has written a large number of popular TV drama series, including ‘Long Vacation.' Produced by filmmaker Iwai Shunji and musician Kobayashi Takeshi, the film spins the life-sized troubles of a high-school couple as they face graduation and collegeentrance exams, with a delicate touch and a pervasive feel of fresh air. The cast's natural expressions and dialogue, largely ad-libbed, gives a sense of reality to the teenagers' naïve romance. Hiro (Kitano Kie), a high-school senior in Hokkaido, has a crush on Shu (Okada Masaki), the captain of the basketball team and an excellent student. She nearly faints whenever he comes near, and she frets about her inability to express her feelings, but by chance one day Shu confesses his love to her and she ends up on Cloud Nine. But Hiro plans to attend the local college of social work, while Shu has his sights set on Waseda University in Tokyo. Hearing this, Hiro erupts: "How could you start a relationship with me, when you knew you'd be going so far away?" and she refuses to speak to him.
