[ Story ]
With Tsuruya Nanboku's drama "Sakurahime Azumabunsho" (*Cherry Blossom Princess) as its motif, this science fiction love story is the first leading role for kabuki actor Nakamura Shido, who has appeared in many different productions on stage and screen. Izou (Nakamura Shido), imprisoned for the crime of rape, is released and heads to the town of Akasen (red-light district), which at night becomes enveloped in a whirlpool of desire. There, he encounters a runaway girl whom he sells to others and aims to enjoy his freedom. Elsewhere, the wanderlust writer Kafu (Komatsu Kazushige), one of the leading writers of the Showa era, is suffering from writer's block and wanders the Akasen streets searching for inspiration.
