Riken Center for Developmental Biology, Epiphany Works
[ Story ]
NIHITI is a short artistic film by internationally renowned artist Takagi Masakatsu, created with a theme of "In accordance with the senses of a cell." It was produced in collaboration with the Riken Center For Developmental Biology, and this work of art gazes deeply into the mystery of the birth of life. In fact, the audience's own cells will reverberate to the beauty of the images and sounds. The title means "hangs greatly somewhere in time,"a Polynesian word thought to be the origins of the word in Japanese for niji, rainbow. In the same way that the actions of water and light create a rainbow out of nowhere, Takagi has expressed the mystery of a form of life that is all around us but invisible to the naked eye.
