Winner of the first "Japan Love Story Award," this film is based on the Harada Maha novel of the same name. A touching story about the exchange between an Okinawan man and the beautiful, but mysterious young woman who comes to visit. The young man, Akio (Tamayama Tetsuji), and his beloved dog, Kafu, live on a small island in Okinawa, and run a general store. One day, a woman named Sachi (Maiko) comes to visit. She says she's there because Akio put his faith in the words of a votive tablet at a famous lovers' shrine, "Come be my bride. I will make you happiest person in the world."
