A bold adaptation of Akutagawa Ryunosuke's novel of the same title. Kawaguchi Hirofumi makes his feature film debut. A coming-of-age story depicting one boy's summer in Taiwan. Beautiful cinematography by Mark Lee Ping-Bing, known for his work with Hou Hsiao-Hsien, as he vividly captures the Taiwanese scenery. Recommended by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. After the sudden death of his father, 8-year-old Atsushi (Harada Kento) goes to a small village in Taiwan, his father's hometown, where he meets his Taiwanese grandfather (Hong Liu). His grandfather takes him on a journey to find an old-fashioned handcar railroad.
