Biting drama about the inner life of a single mother forced into desperate social circumstances. Ishii Yuya wrote, edited and directed this ambitious film the same year he made The Asian Angel, his first collaboration with Korean cast and crew.
Tanaka Ryoko (Ono Machiko) has been raising her middler-schooler son Junpei (Wada Iori) on her own ever since her husband was killed in an outrageous traffic accident seven years ago. Ryoko hasn't received compensation for her husband's death and cares for her hospitalized father-in-law, but she works a side job at night and somehow keeps the household afloat.
