[ Story ]
A love story based on the period novel of the same name by Mary Weather. In the crisp, clear mountains, a troubled young man from the shogunate family falls in love with a young girl who was abducted as an infant and raised in the wild. Hiroki Ryuichi, known for his sensitive portrayal of women, directs the film. Although he is the 17th son of the ruling shogun, Narimichi (Okada Masaki) is a troubled young man, who has never been close to his own parents. He retreats to his retainer's home village, Setamura. On his way to the village, he meets Rai (Aoi Yu), a naive and free-spirited girl, riding alone on a horse.
