[ Story ]
A tale of war between giant robot armies, this is the epic first installment in the six-part theatrical rendition of Yoshinaga Yunosuke's anime of the same name. A youth unable to use magic, in a world where almost everyone can, comes to stand on the front lines of a war of aggression. Amino Tetsuro, known for his Macross 7 series, is the general director. Always belittled for his inability to use magic, Rygart (voice: Hoshi Soichiro) is summoned by the king and queen, friends from his military-academy days, where he is informed that the border zone has been invaded by a neighboring country. To make matters worse, the front-line commander is Zess (voice: Kamiya Hiroshi), another familiar name from their student days.
