[ Story ]
This is the film version of the autobiographical four-frame comic strip from the popular manga artist, Karasu Yasatoshi. It tells the story of a budding manga artist who comes to Tokyo and has to overcome various hardships. This is the feature-length debut of director Mori Yasutaka, who has been developing his own new and powerful style through his work with Kurosawa Kiyoshi. Karasu Yasatoshi, a pen name for the manga artist Katagiri Satoshi (Inoue Yoshio), is unable to sell his work and heads to Tokyo from Osaka with no idea what he will do when he arrives. But as soon as he arrives, the only serial magazine stops publication and he is left unemployed. Finding himself in a difficult situation he decides to show his work to the publishing company, but still no one pays any attention to it.
