[ Story ]

Mamoru (Harada Yoshio) and his family are ethnic Koreans living in Maizuru, a seaside village in Kyoto. He lives alone with his mildly autistic son, Sam (Hamagami Tatsuya), having separated from his wife, Chinja (Baisho Mitsuko), who takes care of their precocious young daughter, Chal (Moriyama Rea). Naoko (Hijii Mika), Sam's teacher at a local special needs school, is estranged from her police captain father (Ishibashi Renji) who is investigating a bribery case involving public officials. When a car containing a black book with information vital to the case is stolen, Sam's eidetic memory puts him in the sights of the mob, forcing Naoko and Mamoru go out on a limb to protect him. However, the conspirators discover that the car has been hidden in Chinja's planned care facility, and begin to tear the place apart.
Veteran director Morisaki Azuma deftly weaves past and present social issues into this frantic caper which was selected for the 2004 Berlinale Forum.
