Warmly depicts the passion for making goods at a local factory and the bonds among family members, set in 1964 as Tokyo bursts with fast-paced economic growth just before the Olympic Games. Employs an easy-going directorial approach that takes elderly audiences into consideration. Rambunctious fifth-grader Kohei (voice: Chiba Shoya) is the second son of the Yamazaki family, which manufactures lathes in the Kamata neighborhood of Tokyo's Ota Ward. His days are full of gaiety under the watchful eye of his stubborn father Yuzo (voice: Matsumoto Yasunori) and others.
