[ Story ]

Ruiko (Itaya Yuka), a librarian, only has relationships with married men. Then she runs into Asao (Takaoka Saki), an old friend from junior high school. Asao invites her to her wedding where Ruiko meets Asao's old boyfriend, Masami (Murakami Jun). When they were in junior high school, Ruiko liked Masami and they read Mishima Yukio's novels together, but Masami preferred Asao to Ruiko. Ruiko is still passionately attracted to the adult Masami, but Masami is impotent. Meanwhile, Asao's marriage to her cold and much older husband becomes unbearable. Their personal problems bring the three friends together again, but Asao dies in a car accident. Ruiko and Masami become even closer in an attempt to fill up the hole in their lives left by Asao's death. However, Masami too, decides that a life of infinite longing is unbearable and Ruiko is finally left alone.
Director Shinohara Tetsuo of Inochi (Life) and Shinkokyu no Hitsuyou (Breathe In, Breathe Out) has faithfully adapted Koike Mariko's romantic novel.
