[ Story ]
Based on the true story of a Japanese boy who went to Thailand to become an elephant trainer at the age of 12 and starring Yagira Yuya, the winner of the Best Actor Award for Dare Mo Shiranai (Nobody Knows) at the Cannes International Film Festival.
The Ogawa family runs a facility for performing animals in the countryside and their son, Tetsumu, has a gift for working with the animals in the center. One day, his mother Saori (Tokiwa Takako) buys two elephants from Thailand and Tetsumu soon wins the trust of the older elephant, Micky. However, Randy, the younger of the two elephants, has not been trained and will not obey him. Tetsumu decides to go to Thailand where he will struggle to master the traditional skill of elephant training. When he returns to Japan, he trains Randy and travels all over Japan, performing with the elephants. Tetsumu begins to dream about founding an elephant paradise where old elephants can live out the rest of their lives in harmony with nature.
