Feature film version of the TV drama series Shinzanmono, based on a story by bestselling author Higashino Keigo. Portrays a detective known for his quick wits as he scrambles to crack a case, and delves into the complex emotions of those involved. A murder takes place in which the victim dies at the foot of the Kirin statue on Tokyo's Nihombashi after walking a full eight minutes with a knife in his belly. The suspect surfaces immediately, but an accident while running away leaves him unconscious and in critical condition. Meanwhile, Kaga (Abe Hiroshi), the detective in charge who has been pursuing the case on his own, hits the limits of speculation.
