The concluding installment in a documentary "trilogy of life" on medical and welfare care from director Koike Masato. The Minami Medical Health Cooperative in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture started out as a medical clinic in the wake of Typhoon Vera, which claimed the lives of over 5,000 people in 1959. This documentary traces fifty years of this 60,000-member medical institution's involvement with the local community. Despite the size to which the cooperative has grown, it still places great importance on the full participation of its members in its decision-making processes. The importance of social connections is brought to light through its observations of members' interactions with each other.
