The 16th entry in a series of feature films spinning off from the popular animated television show "Detective Conan," based on the manga by Aoyama Gosho. Its supervising director is Yamamoto Yasuichiro, who has been involved with the series since it began, and its director is Shizuno Kobun, who also helmed the previous film.
One day, a threatening phone call warns that the Mori Detective Agency will be blown up. Immediately afterward, a vehicle explodes in front of their office. If they cannot decipher a code given to them by the bomber, they will be unable to prevent the next explosion. Conan (voice: Takayama Minami) learns of the crisis while watching a soccer game, and attempts to break the code himself.
