[ Story ]
An animated adaptation of Yanase Takashi's picture book that humorously depicts interaction between tanuki (Japanese raccoon dogs) and humans. Screened together with {Anpanman ga Umareta Hi} and {Robo-kun to Kotori} under the title "Yanase Takashi Theater." An official selection of the Tokyo International Film Festival.
Tanuki Hal (voice: Nozawa Masako) takes in a human infant (voice: Toda Keiko) she finds in the forest. She uses her power to transform to take the guise of a human mother, and passes on her talent for playing music with a blade of grass to the child, who she names Pal. He grows into a healthy boy and his talent for music brings him to the attention of others, after which he leaves home for the city.
