Tatekawa Danshi, the one-of-a-kind genius rakugo performer who revolutionized the classic performing art of rakugo into entertaining and literary artistic works that also speak to contemporary society. Documentary created to memorialize the first anniversary of his death in November 2011.
Comprised of filmed versions of Yakan, synonymous with his audacious illusion rakugo, and his ace-in-the-hole work Shibahama, along with never-before-seen interview footage. Delves into the rakugo philosophy of Tachikawa, who was always contemplating the essence of the art.
