A drama that presents a detailed depiction of the emotions of adults standing at crossroads in their lives, based on the book by Akutagawa Prize-winning author Miyamoto Teru. REBIRTH director Narushima Izuru carried out an extended full-scale shoot for the film in Hunza, Pakistan, and captured the grandeur of its scenery.
Divorcee Kentaro (Sato Koichi) enters his fifties, and has fateful encounters with Togashi (Nishimura Masahiko), Kishiko (Kichise Michiko), and Keisuke, a boy abandoned by his parents. As the four grow closer, they eventually decide to journey to Hunza, the last paradise on Earth.
