Karube Shinichi, who learned special cinematography techniques like crane shots in Hollywood, makes his directorial debut with this historical drama. Uses original visual sensibility to wistfully depict the tragic love between a young samurai and prostitute who meet on an island for exiles. Won the top director's prize at the 2011 Lahore International Film Festival in Pakistan.
At the close of the Edo period, samurai Kengo (Ichinose Hidekazu) turns his back on the Shogunate and gets exiled to Sado Island. In an unforgiving environment he encounters the falsely accused Oyuki (Saijo Misaki), a prostitute from the Yoshiwara pleasure quarters in Edo, and gradually they are drawn to each other.
