The debut feature film directed by internationally active modern artist Murakami Takashi. It is a science-fiction fantasy on an atypical scale that combines live action with over 1,000 computer graphics-enhanced shots to depict the relationship between a boy and a strange creature called "Kurage-bo."
Elementary schooler Masashi (Sueoka Takuto) moves to a new town and meets a jellyfish-like creature that he calls "Kurage-bo" and befriends. One day when he goes to his new school, his classmates bring along bizarre critters of their own.
