Epic feature film that clocks in at four hours and fifteen minutes, born from a proposal at an actor training school. Three-part structure consists of an ensemble play by directors as they prepare for the stage, the play as it is actually performed before an audience, and short episodes. Director and screenwriter Hamaguchi Ryusuke of Nami no oto interweaves fact and fiction.
Ryohei (Sato Ryo) and Reiko (Hirano Rei) co-direct the new play "Shinmitsusa." Also a couple, they sense limitations to the way they've done things until now. Then, the lead actor Mikki (Tayama Mikio) pulls out of the project.
