Takahashi Yujiro was active worldwide as the leading Tsugaru-jamisen performer from the 1960s until his death in 2012. This documentary leaves no stone unturned as it captures his magnificent life, lovable character, unmatched professional artistry, and his passion for teaching the next generation.
Raised on Akita folk music, Takahashi was known for his lively banter and outstanding performances of songs including "Tsugaru Jongara Bushi." Numerous students gathered from around Japan, drawn by his talent and personality. However, Takahashi also had tough early years at folk music bars.
