An animated adaptation of "1998", three manga written by video game creator Takeuchi Takashi under the name of "The Bamboo Broom" (a manga collective formed with Nasu Kinoko) as part of the compilation "Kara no Kyoukai: Mirai Fukuin". Its story revolves around series protagonist Ryogi Shiki and a black cat. Screened together with Kara no Kyoukai: Mirai Fukuin.
The battle between Ryogi Shiki (voice: Sakamoto Maaya) and Asagami Fujino (voice: Noto Mamiko) comes to an end in August of 1998. Shiki asks Kokuto Mikiya (voice: Suzumura Kenichi) to look after a black cat, and he ends up taking care of it. However...
