Yellow Elephant screenwriter Kataoka Shou makes his feature-length directorial debut with this adaptation of Nakamura Takatoshi's popular tearjerking coming-of-age manga, which has sold over 600,000 copies in total. The up-and-coming cast, including Ikeoka Ryosuke as the protagonist and Taketomi Seika as the female lead, give fresh and youthful performances.
Ando Sora (Ikeoka) is inspired by Japanese national women's soccer team representative Wakamiya Shiki (Taketomi) to become the leader of his school's soccer team. Nina (Ueno Yuka), who serves as the team's manager without telling her parents, develops a growing attraction to Sora, who is working hard to achieve his dream.
