A documentary that traces the lives of people who survived the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. Through interviews with victims of differing races and circumstances, it creates a vivid portrait of the strength and beauty of human beings who made it through difficult times.
Of the 210,000 people who died in the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, approximately 40,000 were laborers and migrants from the Korean Peninsula. In Nagasaki, the location of an Allied prisoner of war camp, 195 foreign soldiers were exposed to radiation from the bombs. Visits to a facility for atomic bombing survivors in South Korea and a former Dutch soldier retrace memories of the time.
