The first starring vehicle for Ashida Mana, a child actor who made her Hollywood debut in Pacific Rim. Director Yukisada Isao, who won the Berlin International Film Festival's FIPRESCI Jury Prize for Parade in 2010, takes a skeptical look at the ways of the world through the eyes of its diminutive protagonist.
Uzuhara Kotoko (Ashida), nicknamed "Kokko," is a thirdyear elementary school student who lives with her family in a housing complex in Osaka. They lead a perfectly happy life, eating meals together while seated at a round table, but Kokko can't stand it...
