An ensemble piece inspired by actual pregnancy scandal involving a group of students at a high school in the United States in 2008. It depicts the struggle of several young women who attempt to break free from their cloistered surroundings. Winner of the Hokkaido Governor's Prize at the 2014 Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival.
In a small fishing town where its key industry has fallen into a slump, high school student Maki (Tsuruoka Moeki) is running a water quality survey on a local beach when she comes across a deep-sea fish called a giant oarfish. As if guided by the fish and the strange legend surrounding it, Maki thinks up a plan involving a pregnancy pact.
